Vancouver Townhouse Garden

Vancouver Townhouse Garden
2017 | Site 1000 sq ft | Design by Stephen Stewart and Synergy Landscape Design

Construction by MacInnes Landscaping, Carrot Top Gardens and Andre Kruger

Small gardens require a strict attention to detail in order for the garden to shine. This garden was a pleasure to design and build, the clients contributing and participating fully through out. It is the collection of the features – the fire bowl, the cedar trellis, the colourful and textural foliage, the Tetsu Bachi water feature, the accent lighting and the Belgium Bluestone pavers – that bring this garden to a calming delight of the senses. A truly private gem screened by Taxus (Yew) hedging, Pinus sylvestris (Pine), Magnolia grandiflora (Evergreen Magnolia), Fagus sylvatica ‘Dawyk’s Purple’ (Dawyk’s Purple Beech) and Phyllostachys aureosulcata ‘Harbin Inversa’ (Golden Bamboo) with year round interest from combinations of Pododcarpus lawrenceii ‘Red Tip’ (Mountain Plum Pine), Vaccinium ovatum (Evergreen Huckleberry), Hakonechloa macra ‘Aureola’ (Japanese Forest Grass), Sedum ‘Angelina’, Sedum spurium ‘Fuldaglut’ (Two-Row Stonecrop) and Miscanthus sinensis ‘Morning Light’ (Variegated Maiden Grass).
